MinimServer for Synology
Thank you for installing MinimServer on your Synology DiskStation.
This page provides a brief guide to getting started with MinimServer. You can find more information about MinimServer on the other pages of the MinimServer website.
To use MinimServer as your music server, you'll also need a UPnP AV or DLNA control point and a UPnP AV or DLNA renderer. For more information about UPnP AV, see the UPnP AV page.
MinimServer provides a configuration web page that gives you the option to select a content directory for your music library. You'll need to do this before you can use MinimServer to browse and play music. For details, see the Content directory page.
For additional configuration of MinimServer, you'll need to install the MinimWatch application on a PC, Mac or Linux computer. You can find instructions for installing MinimWatch on the MinimWatch page.
MinimWatch enables you to customize various MinimServer settings to suit your personal preferences. For details of how to do this, see the Monitoring and control page in the MinimServer user guide.
To get the best from using MinimServer, it's a good idea to read through the sections of the User guide. This guide explains how to use the various features and settings of MinimServer.
